A body lift is performed to remove excess skin and fat from the torso and upper legs. It offers a dramatic improvement in appearance for patients who have lost significant amounts of weight due to childbearing, diet, exercise or bariatric surgery, or for patients who have loose, inelastic skin for other reasons. It is an involved procedure that usually takes 3 to 7 hours under general anesthesia. The patient usually requires hospitalization after the procedure and a recovery period of four to six weeks. A body lift is often combined with other procedures to create a proper body proportion.
A thigh lift is a procedure to raise and reshape unsightly skin and related fat deposits in the upper legs. During the aging process, skin loses some elasticity – causing the legs to lose their natural shape and firmness. In conjunction with liposuction or a lower body lift, the thigh lift can help effectively re-contour the upper legs.
Brachioplasty (Arm Surgery)
A Brachioplasty, or arm lift, is performed to remove areas of skin and fat from the upper arms. Although liposuction alone can often be successful, a Brachioplasty is recommended for patients with significant skin excess from massive weight loss. The procedure gives loose and flabby arms a more shaped and toned appearance.
